Who is Wouter and what is this blog about?

My full name is Wouter De Bruycker. I was born and raised in Flanders and currently reside in a small town called Lede. After graduating with distinction as a bachelor in Graphical and Digital Media I started (and still am) working as Development Officer for the funky webdesign & development firm 9000 Studios in Ghent, Belgium.

For those of you who want to stalk me, you can find me on the following social networks: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Delicious and Last.fm.

I started this blog mainly because I wanted a website of my own with which I could do whatever I want. The articles will be inspiration-related thus you can expect anything from fresh furniture to amazing ad-campaigns to mind-boggling music videos. Since it's not my goal to make money of this website you will not be bothered with annoying popups or columns full of ads (hooray!) so you can browse around at ease.

Hobby's and spare time.

Keeping up with technology, internet trends and blogs is something I do almost on a daily basis. But besides that geeky stuff I keep myself occupied with some other things as well!

my Pearl drumkit

Playing the drums!

Oh how I love my shiny black drumkit! If it weren't for the neighbours I would probably be playing the drums several hours a day. I'm currently not in a band though there are some real plans of forming one in the future with a couple of friends. We already decided over a band name back in 2009, though it's still a huge secret, shhht!

Stars at "De Melkweg" in Amsterdam

Concerts & Festivals.

Be it a huge festival with thousands of visitors or a tiny basement with only a handfull of die-hard fans and music snobs, I'm always up for a good musical intervention. I'm a regular at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium and attend concerts in Brussels on a monthly basis. Among my favourite artists are Stars, Blind Pilot, The Avett Brothers, The Tallest Man On Earth, The Subways and Band Of Horses.

me juggling 5 balls all the way back in 2003

Former juggler and card magician.

Though my obsessive juggling period is over, I still pick up some beanbags or clubs from time to time to see if I can still keep them up. I used to be quite the juggler, juggling over 4 hours a day 7 days a week and making use of every break at school to perfect every trick I knew.

After mastering a great number of juggling siteswaps, some creative 3-ball routines and some 6-ball runs, I sort of gave up on the whole thing and got my hands on a deck of cards. What started out as learning and performing some simple tricks for the guys at school actually turned out earning me some money doing some professional table-hopping gigs at a couple of business events. Though I loved doing it, it was too time-consuming to keep practicing new tricks and card handlings day in day out whilst going to work and trying to have a social life :)

What else?

Of course there is much more to me then just these couple of paragraphs! feel free to drop me a line either via Twitter or the contact page.

Either way I thank you for reading this entire page and hope you have a nice day!
